FgSd-1, Tezli: This is a large pithouse village site with multiple occupations both within and between houses. The upper levels may represent Carrier Indians, and the lower levels may pre-date Carrier occupation. Donahue (1977) assigns the dates to three temporal units. Temporal Unit 1 (2500-4100 BP) includes S-667 and S-769, although both dates are older than expected. This represents the earliest known construction of pit houses. Temporal Unit 2 (1300-2500 BP) is represented by S-586, S-770, S-771, and GaK-3280. Temporal Unit 3 (100-800 BP) is represented by S-585, S-666, S-768, and S-1035. Donahue finds the last three dates questionable and suspects that S-1035 samples a recent fence post. Three modern assays are not assigned to the temporal units.
