- EeRl-19, Fountain: This is a large multicomponent village with pit houses and cache pits. Three major components include (1) a microblade complex of BC age; (2) a transitional period around the time of Christ; and (3) Kamloops phase, AD 1250-1800. S-583, Feature 13, was from a small cooking oven associated with extensive charcoal and burned soil stratum. S-584 was from a small oven located in the basal cultural deposit in the southern part of the site, the oven extending into sterile glacial lake silt. Stryd's general comment: Both S-583 and S-584 date to the period between the microblade and Kamloops phase components, and they indicate that artifact mixing is more extensive than thought. Associated arrow points date to the introduction of the bow and arrow into this part of British Columbia.
