- Charcoal from Feature 1b, Level 5. Also rejected by the author as too recent. It is a lenticular zone of stained soil located adjacent to the W side of Feature 1a. Meas. ca. 1 x10 m, 5 cm thick. Stain is darkest in Level 5b at 40-45 cm bmgs, and bleeds downward to the base of Level 6. Only 1 flake found nearby. Interpreted as a clean-out of material from Feature 1a. Date is thought to be contaminated.
