Context
Feature 2, Block 1, Locus 1. A scatter of FCR visible on the surface. Excavation revealed an oven/roasting pit, 104 x 85 cm in dia., 6 cm deep, with a high ash and charcoal content, and 53 pieces of FCR, weighing 4.25 kg. Fill contained 1 flake, 61unidentifiable bone fragments and an unfired clay cylinder. Charcoal was sagebrush, juniper, and pinyon. Interpreted as a roasting pit for processing animal foods.
