Comments
FbNs-3, Carruthers: Test excavation consisted of clearing profiles along the ditches on either side of the road that had disturbed and exposed the site. Eleven profiles were cleared along the north ditch and a single longer profile was examined along the south ditch. The profiles revealed a single component Oxbow site, and the test excavations produced one broken and two complete Oxbow points. Faunal remains were relatively scarce, amounting to only 420 g, of which 336 g consisted of tiny unidentifiable segments, from all profiles combined. Charred and comminuted bones from nine of the profiles formed a composite sample submitted for radiocarbon dating (I. Dyck, p.c. 1990) based on an insoluble collagen extraction.
