Context
charcoal excavated from Feature 6-N175 E797 L5-upper L6. Its calibrated date ranges are AD 1220-1280 adn BP 730-670. featue 6 is heavy concentation of secondary adn tertiary flakes, charcoal, ash, burnt sandstone, fire-cracked rock (quartz and quartzite), adn fragmented bone. Its generalized soil is very dark adn ashy. It occupied the northern three-quarters of teh 1 m square unit. A scraper adn obsidiam flake were recovered wtihin the feature area and an Early Ceramic corner-notched projectile point (Cat No. 980) was found at its base. It is roughly oval form measures approximately 55 cm east-west adn 40 cm north-south with an average thickness of 4 cm. The feature top is ca. 8-10 cm below an earlier level (4)in the same excavation unit.
