Comments
DkPp-11, Racehorse Rockshelter: This stratified deposit is rich in small mammal remains suitable for palaeoenvironmental analysis. Small mammals are present from the deepest levels, dated by S-2417. Level 6, dated by S-2418, marks the first appearance of large mammals and cultural materials in the rockshelter, along with an increase in small mammal diversity. The Level 6 assemblage indicates an ameliorated climate and the establishment of a mixed-forest/grassland ecotone.
