Comments
Site consists of a bermed 4 x 6 m depression and a second smaller depression. Obsidian and chert flakes and bone fragments were found at the site. A 30 cm test was excavated in the center of the depression and it revealed statified deposits and a series of dates ranging from 1740 to 2670 BP. Charcoal is described as "...problematic as its relatively early age does not fit with the apparent sequence from bottom to top (oldest to youngest). The size of the sample, 0.2 grams of carbon after pretreatment, an extremely small amount, may be the cause for the seemingly anomalous date (Kunz 1984: 254)." The large feature is of unknown function and possibly a house or a cache pit. The time transgressive nature of the fill deposits may suggest long-term use.
