Context
Charcoal from floor of Pithouse 1. It meas. ca. 3 m in dia, 30-40 cm deep below the prehistoric ground surface. Unprepared, use-compacted surface. A large basin metate was resting just above the floor. One basin shaped subfloor pit, ca. 40 cm in dia. black ashy fill, several small burned slabs resting in the fill. Artifacts from fill: several hundred pieces of debitage, a few FSTs, a large crustacean fossil.
