- A bulk soil sample from Feature 5 hearth, MP2. The pit was excavated to 70 cm bmgs, and cultural material was not apparent until the base of Level 3. The feature was a shallow basin hear, 50 x 40 cm in dia, 8 cm deep, ranging from 50-58 cm bmgs. It contained ashy soil, decomposed charcoal and 7 oxidized stone frags. No artifacts directly assoc. A hafted biface was found in sediments immed. above Level 5. The feature has a Middle Archaic date whereas the proj pt appears to be Late Archaic.
