Comments
BcGw-26, Wiacek: This is a 0.7 ha village assigned to the Middleport phase. Both radiocarbon dates (I-13537, I-13538) were considered somewhat too early in relation to the ceramic seriation. A re-assay of one of the samples (I-13538c) yielded an age that "appears more consistent with the ceramic data" (Robertson, et al. 1995: 40). Fauna: Salvelinus sp or Salmo sp, Esox lucius, Amia calva; cultigen: Phaseolus vulgaris, Cucurbita pepo, Nicotiana rustica; Flora: Rubus sp, Fragaria sp, Sambucus sp, Prunus sp, Solanum nigrum, Chenopodium sp, Polygonum sp, Aralia sp, Rhus typhina, Galium sp, Tsuga sp or Taxus sp, Acer sp, Fagus grandifolia, Fraxinus sp, Ulmus americana, Ostrya virginiana, Pinus strobus, Larix laricina, Juglans cinerea, Quercus sp, Carya sp
