Additional information
Finlayson (1971: 91) suggests that the large pieces of charcoal are more likely intrusive than the smaller pieces recovered by flotation (GaK-2801).
Comments
BcHi-7, Thede: A small faunal assemblage is variably "associated" with six dates spanning >1000 years. Finlayson (1971: 91) suggests that the oldest two dates are probably most representative of the time of site occupancy. Some of the younger dates were obtained either on large pieces of charcoal, each of which could be intrusive, or on a concentration of charcoal that could have been a burned root attributable to a forest fire.
