- EgPr-2, Sibbald Creek: Excavations by Gryba covered an area of 198 sq m, about 30% of the estimated site area, and resulted in the recovery of over 10,000 artifacts representing nearly all of the known cultural complexes of the northern Plains. Unfortunately this rich record is contained in a compressed stratigraphic sequence that rarely exceeds 50 cm in thickness. Ball returned to the site to collect two column samples from the edge of Gryba's excavation. Ball sieved his samples to recover charcoal, and he submitted three samples for radiocarbon dating. He also presented evidence that the distribution of recovered projectile points demonstrates some degree of depositional integrity, but it is not possible to correlate the radiocarbon dates with specific cultural manifestations.
