Comments
LdLl-2, Aberdeen Lake: The site contains Palaeoindian and Pre-Dorset specimens but primarily relates to the Shield Archaic. S-506 should be a minimum age for House 1, a Shield Archaic structure. Wright accepts S-506, because closer examination of House 1 suggests a later placement in the Shield Archaic than originally estimated. The date also raises the possibility of contemporaneity between major Shield Archaic and minor Pre-Dorset occupations. BGS-33 should be a minimum age for House 2, a Shield Archaic structure. However, BGS-33, from capping peat, is too late to have anything to do with the contents of House 2 where the artifact assemblage suggests an earlier age than that of House 1.
