FdSi-11, Nakwantlun: This is a multicomponent site with an unknown number of components, ending with late prehistoric or protohistoric Chilcotin. Dates S-1415, -1417, -1589, -1594, -1608, and -1609 form a fairly compact group ranging from 2370 to 2530 BP. Four samples from House 2, from two stratified hearths, are in proper order with one exception. Tight date clustering suggests that S-1593 at 3500 BP, from the upper of two hearths in House 2, is too early. These are the earliest dates so far obtained at Anahim Lake. S-1416 falls within the range of Component Cluster I at the Potlatch site (FcSi-2), characterized by the presence of microblades (Wilmeth 1978b). No microblades have yet been recovered at the Nakwantlun site, but parallel house forms are noted at the two sites. S-1446, -1612, and -1610 immediately precede previous dates for Component Cluster III at the Goose Point site (FcSi-1). S-1446 is comparable to Goose Point (S-1039). S-1590, -1591, and -1611 span the period from late prehistoric to protohistoric in the Anahim area, associated with small side-notched points, alleged to represent occupation by Chilcotin Indians. No comment is available on a second series of dates: S-1811, -1995, -1812, -1996, -1813, -1999, -1998, -2000, -2001.
