Comments
GdId-7, Cowell: James Buckley, of Isotopes Corporation, noted that the sample contained a large amount of humic acid, and the date may err on the young side. Meyer and Russell (1987: Table 1) list this site as relating to the Winnipeg River complex. Cooper and Savage (1994: 22) note that caribou butchering appears to have been carried out off-site. A number of caribou elements were broken to extract marrow. The presence of Canada goose suggests occupation some time between May and October. Three artifacts include a probable awl.
