- Feature 2, located 47 m NE of Feature 1. F-2 is a charcoal stain. Shallow, basin-shaped, ca. 3 m long, 30 cm deep. Fill at base was charcoal laden soil, FCR frags., and 17 flakes, one of which was obsidian. A chunk of oxidized clay similar to that lining Feature 1 was found near the base of the depression. Possibly the remains of a small structure, but no internal evidence such as postholes or a fireplace. Similar shallow basins without internal features are found in many areas. It may have been a short-term warm weather windbreak structure. Could have been used for roasting, but no charred pinyon hulls or cones present.
