Comments
CeDf-VP: A minke whale skeleton has produced two concordant radiocarbon dates, as well as a third measurement, 18,570 +/- 500 (S-1969A), that apparently is erroneous. Rampton notes that GSC-3284 and S-1969B taken together suggest that the area was submerged to over 8 m elevation around 12,500 years ago. The incorrect age obtained for S-1969A led Rampton and Paradis (1981) to report, probably erroneously, that much of the New Brunswick Lowlands were deglaciated by 18,000 years ago.
