- BlDn-26, The Meadows: This site was excavated in 1998 and 1999 during the construction of a new bridge for the TransCanada Highway. Archaeological materials were recovered from 1-2 m of alluvium, primarily sandy silt with some clay, ca. 70-80 m from the river banks. Most of the material appears to pertain to a single component dating to the Middle Maritime Woodland (Middle Ceramic) period (ca. 1600 BP). The southern portion of the main excavation area produced an oval ring of domestic features (hearths and house floors), and knapping areas, suggestive of a single highly patterned campsite.
